Ángel Gutierrez
Matilde | Valle de Guadalupe, MX
Born on June 22, 1992 in the city of Tijuana, B.C. Mexico, Ángel grew up in a family where the kitchen was always a meeting place. Since childhood he came to enjoy his time in the kitchen. At the age of 10, he began to dabble in the kitchen while helping his mother with her work, who has dedicated 30 years of her life to cooking.
After finishing his studies in Tijuana, he moved to the city of Mexicali as an agronomy student where he stayed 1 ½ years. His love for the countryside and animals led him to discover his true vocation. He returned to Tijuana to work on what he knew he truly was. He studied at the Culinary Arts School with the support of Director Javier González. Since his first month in the studio, he began to serve at a variety of events, including several where he worked with Chef Marcelo Hisaki, who has inspired him with his passion and culinary perspective.
In 2015, he decided to try his hand at forging his own path. He decided to create an independent banquet company, which has been a huge challenge and has brought him great joy and knowledge. Over time, he began to position himself in the regional market. He has clients like La Ronda Salón de Eventos in Tijuana and highly recognized wedding planners in the region, like Fidel Leyva and Oskar Escalante.
In 2018, he was invited to work at Finca Tre Winery, which became his most important career move.
In May 2019, he traveled to the Department of Maldonado in Uruguay to take a master class, with Chef Francis Mallan, with the intention of preparing himself for the opening of his restaurant, Matilde, which is named after his grandmother in her honor.
